Islamic Shariah Requirements

 

Meat and other foods, including food ingredients, whether it is privatly produced or imported must follow the above regulation.

  • It must be approuved by Halal Monitoring Organisation like Halal Monitoring Committee.
  • It must be wholesome and meet the food and safety regulations and be of acceptable nutritional quality
  • It must meet the requirements of the trade and descriptions and weights and measures legislation,  FSA Food and Safety Act 1990 and Associated Legislation  
  • Meat (Hygiene and Inspection) (Charges) Regulations 1998 SI 2095
  • Requirement for food to be fit for consumption and meeting food and safety requirements
  • Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 SI 1763. General hygiene requirements for food premises and food handler training, Food handlers to comply with rules health and safety of hygiene.
  • Requirements for hazard analysis and/or hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP)
  • The Weights & Measures (Packaged Goods and Quantity Marking and Abbreviations of Units) (Amendment) Regulations 1994 SI 1852.
  • The Materials and Articles in Contact with Food Regulations 1987 SI 1523 Amended 1994 SI 979
